The Obsidian Sanlam Collective Investments Multi Asset Retail Hedge Fund will aim to maximise long term capital growth. It invests across the full ambit of asset classes, namely equity, property, bonds, commodities, and cash. It has a global mandate, but will retain a bias toward South African assets. Given its demanding benchmark of SA CPI + 3%, it will also tend to have a material equity exposure. The fund mandate is available upon request.
Active asset allocation and stock selection are employed to construct a diversified portfolio that targets a real return through the investment cycle. The accommodating investment mandate enables the fund to take long positions in the most attractive investment opportunities, and short positions in those that are deemed to be overvalued. Construction is driven solely by the investment philosophy and process of the firm; exposures are agnostic of any benchmark.
The annual management fee is 1.5% with a 20% performance fee above benchmark returns. The high watermark principle applies. Other classes available.
